Alison Cheng
Senior Educational Psychologist
Alison is a seasoned psychologist with extensive experience in child development and educational psychology. She holds a Master of Arts in Applied Psychology (Educational Psychology) and is a registered psychologist in Singapore with specialty knowledge in working with children with autism.
Alison’s previous role as a Senior Psychologist at the National University Hospital (NUH) – Child Development Unit involved conducting psycho-educational assessments and interventions for children with a range of neurodevelopmental conditions. She is proficient with a variety of assessment tools and has played a key role in several intervention programs and projects; including a transition programme for children with autism going to mainstream primary schools. She is a certified therapist in the SOS Approach to Feeding and the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). She is currently part of NUH’s Multidisciplinary Feeding and Nutrition Clinic, where she is involved in conducting comprehensive feeding evaluations and therapy sessions for children with autism with feeding difficulties.
Alison has also contributed significantly to the local research field, with publications in reputable journals and poster presentations at international and local conferences, receiving accolades for her work.
Beyond Alison’s clinical and academic endeavors, she has conducted numerous workshops and talks, sharing her expertise on child development and behavior management with educators, healthcare professionals, and the general public. She has also contributed to media articles in Shin Min Daily News and Smartparents.sg, providing insights on topics such as autism, dyslexia, and secure attachment in children.
